HS&E

Our company, representing the technical know-how of Turkish Airlines, which has been the leader of Turkish civil aviation since 1933, is also carrying on its leading role in the aviation sector with investments in occupational health, safety and environment (HS&E).

Turkish Airlines Technic is sensitive to environmental issues. On October 18th, 2006, the company received the ISO 14001 Environment Management System and OHSAS 18001 Occupational Health and Safety Assessment Series certifications, demonstrating its commitment to the environment.

Some preventive actions taken to curb accidents and to leave a cleaner earth to coming generations include:

• Minimizing electric, water and natural gas consumption,
• Performing waste management in order to minimize environmental damage due to chemicals used for aircraft maintenance and repair.
• Minimizing deaths due to occupational accidents.

Within the scope of our HS&E efforts, on November 9th, 2007, an agreement was signed between Turkish Airlines and GE Aviation, for the reprocessing of scrap engine components. Notably, our commitments related to the environment were published in the special edition “Planet Earth International Year”, printed for the International Year of Planet Earth declared by UNESCO (United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization).
