Turkish Technic Brings Together 700 Aviation Professionals in Istanbul.

Turkish Technic, one of the world's largest aircraft maintenance-repair (MRO) companies, is hosting the 128th International Airlines Technical Pool (IATP) conference this year.

Representatives at the event, which took place in Istanbul from October 7th to 11th and saw participation from 198 companies and 700 individuals from six continents, focused on topics aimed at reducing technical-related flight costs in flight operations.

The opening speech of the event, attended by 125 airlines, 41 technical maintenance, and 32 aircraft supply companies, was delivered by Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat, Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee of Turkish Technic. In his speech, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat stated: "We are delighted to host this valuable gathering of aviation professionals here in Istanbul. The conference shares the goal of discussing the challenges facing the global aviation industry and finding collective solutions to these issues. It holds significant importance in fostering innovative ideas and shaping the future of the sector. Furthermore, it serves as a crucial platform for strengthening collaborations and developing joint projects. We believe that this important event, combined with Istanbul's rich historical and cultural heritage, will provide participants with an unforgettable experience."

Exploring the Historical Beauties of Istanbul

The 700 participants from around the world who attended the conference had the opportunity to explore the natural and historical beauty of Istanbul through organized tour programs. These tours also contributed to promoting Türkiye. The participants visited historical sites such as the Sultanahmet and Hagia Sophia Mosques, as well as the Basilica Cistern. They also enjoyed a boat tour on the Bosphorus to witness the sunset.

Turkish Technic and Emirates Expand Partnership in Aircraft Maintenance

Turkish Technic, one of the world’s leading maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) providers, has recently signed another base maintenance agreement with Emirates, the largest Boeing 777 fleet operator in the world. This agreement will serve as an extension to the initial base maintenance annex signed in April 2023, which covered five Emirates Boeing 777s.

Under the terms of the new agreement, Turkish Technic will perform base maintenance services for further seventeen (17) Boeing 777 aircraft in Emirates’ fleet. The base maintenance operations for the first aircraft under scope of this agreement will commence in July 2023.

Turkish Technic provides aircraft maintenance services to Emirates Airlines

Turkish Technic, the Istanbul-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider for commercial aircraft, their components and private jets, has recently signed a base maintenance agreement with Emirates, the largest Boeing 777 fleet operator in the world.

Under the terms of the agreement, Turkish Technic will perform base maintenance services on five Boeing 777 of Emirates fleet. The base maintenance operation of the first Boeing 777 has already commenced at Turkish Technic’s Istanbul Ataturk Airport facilities on April 1st. The other aircraft within the scope of the agreement will undergo base maintenance operations at Istanbul Ataturk Airport facilities in the upcoming months.

Turkish Technic Reaches the Highest Revenue in its History

Turkish Technic, one of the most prominent players in the global aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, released its financial results for 2022, which marked successful growth and solid strategic acceleration. The company recorded a 37 percent growth compared to the previous year with 1,42 billion USD in revenue and increased its market share to 1.9 percent, reaching the highest growth rate and revenue in the company's history.

Expanding its capacity and capabilities to meet the needs of the aviation sector, Turkish Technic added new achievements to its service portfolio in 2022. The company has completed base maintenance operations for Boeing 787 Dreamliner and Airbus A350 aircraft for the first time during the year and carried out its first Boeing 777-300ER landing gear overhaul. Adding 1.193 aircraft part numbers to its capability in 2022, the MRO leader expanded its maintenance-repair capabilities and the range of services it offers its customers.

On the 2022 performance of the company, Turkish Technic Chairman of the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bolat said: “To meet the growing needs of the aviation industry, we continuously increase our capacity and capabilities and continue to provide high-quality maintenance-repair services to our local and international customers. Closing 2022 with 1,42 billion USD in revenue and 119 million USD in operational profit, we achieved remarkable success in our company’s history. Supporting component and aircraft maintenance operations of many airline companies spread over a large geographical area, Turkish Technic provided base maintenance services to 649 aircraft, completed overhaul operations of 221 landing gears and serviced over 119.000 components throughout 2022.

Turkish Technic is Waiving Labour Charges for Maintenance Services

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial aircraft and their components, has started providing maintenance services support on-demand (with no labour charge) to international airlines flying to the earthquake zone in south-eastern Türkiye.

Following the devastating earthquake that took place on February 6 in Kahramanmaras province, one of the strongest earthquakes to hit the region in a century at 7.8 magnitude, a three-month state of emergency has been announced, covering Türkiye’s 10 south-eastern provinces. In response to the devastating earthquakes, aid and support have been outpouring from around the world. With an aim to extend their gratitude for the generosity and kindness shown by the international community, Turkish Technic has announced that they are providing maintenance services support on-demand (with no labour charge) to international airlines performing flights for humanitarian aid and search and rescue teams to the earthquake zone. From the United States of America to Germany, the Netherlands, Libya, Vietnam and China, Turkish Technic has serviced airlines from over 10 countries so far.

Turkish Technic to Provide Base Maintenance Services to Air Serbia

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services has signed an agreement with the flag carrier of Serbia, Air Serbia,  for the base maintenance services of four Airbus A320 family along with an A330 aircraft.

In accordance with the contract, base maintenance of the first Airbus A320ceo aircraft has commenced at Turkish Technic’s Istanbul Ataturk Airport facilities.  Its Certificate of Release to Service will be issued in the first week of February. The other aircraft within the scope of the contract will be taken to service at Istanbul Ataturk Airport facilities in the upcoming months.

HONEYWELL SELECTS TURKISH TECHNIC AS AN AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER FOR 131-9A AUXILIARY POWER UNITS

Turkish Technic will service the 131-9A auxiliary power units installed on Airbus A320 aircraft

PHOENIX, Oct. 24, 2022 — Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) has appointed Turkish Technic, a maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) organization, to be an authorized Honeywell service center for the 131-9A auxiliary power units (APUs) installed on the Airbus A320 aircraft series. Turkish Technic is already a Honeywell channel partner with repair capabilities on 131-9 APUs on Boeing 737s and will be able to utilize its expertise for Airbus aircraft.

 

Under the terms of the agreement, Turkish Technic will provide inspection, repair, overhaul and upgrades for 131-9A and 131-9B APU models. Owners and operators of these aircraft will be able to repair their APUs locally in Turkiye instead of sending them to facilities outside the region.

Turkish Technic and Honeywell Strengthen Their Cooperation

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for commercial and government operators, has signed a ten-year global repair license agreement with Honeywell for Air Data Inertial Reference Unit (ADIRU) of Boeing 737MAX, 737 Next Generation (NG) and 787. Under the terms of the agreement, Honeywell will supply subparts to Turkish Technic, and Turkish Technic will operate as the Authorized Global Service Center for Honeywell’s ADIRU components, providing repair services for its local and international customers.

 

Expanding the Channel Partnership between both parties, the new agreement supplements Turkish Technic’s existing Honeywell license agreements that cover GTCP131-9A/B APUs (Auxiliary Power Units), CFM56-7B HMUs (Hydro Mechanical Units), Boeing 737MAX, 737 NG APU Starter-Generators and hundred more Honeywell Mechanical and Avionic LRUs (Line Replaceable Units). As the Authorized Service Center for ADIRU components of Boeing 737MAX, 737 Next Generation and 787, Turkish Technic will provide extensive repair and component pool services for its customers.

Turkish Technic will be the first third party conversion house for

EFW’s A330P2F program

Germany and Turkey, 6 October 2022 – Elbe Flugzeugwerke GmbH (EFW), center of excellence for Airbus Passenger-to-Freighter (P2F) conversions and Turkish Technic, a leading MRO company certified around the world as Part 145 and Part 21 J&G organization, announced a new collaboration in A330P2F conversions.

 

The collaboration will see to Turkish Technic becoming the first MRO company to provide third party conversion solutions for the proven and technologically advanced A330P2F program by EFW. The first A330P2F conversion for EFW is planned to be carried out at Turkish Technic’s facility in Istanbul in 3Q 2023.

 

“We have a growing P2F order book which mirrors a strong market demand for Airbus freighter conversions, with the A330P2F program being increasingly considered as the preferred next-generation platform in the medium to widebody category,” said Jordi Boto, CEO of EFW. “Through our collaboration with Turkish Technic, which has deep experience in maintaining Airbus aircraft, we will ensure meeting our customer commitments in a robust manner.”

EFW’s A330P2F program is developed in collaboration with ST Engineering and Airbus, with EFW holding the Supplemental Type Certificate and leading in the overall program as well as marketing & sales efforts. The A330P2F program comes with two variants – the A330-200P2F and A330-300P2F – which are both equipped with advanced technology that offers airlines additional operational and economic benefits. The A330-200P2F can carry a gross payload of up to 61 tons of weight to over 7.700 km, while the larger A330-300P2F can carry a gross payload of up to 63 tons and a containerized volume of up to ~18.581ft3 (~526m3).

 

To meet the rising demand for freighter conversions, ST Engineering and EFW have set up new conversion sites in China and the U.S. in the last one to two years to ramp up total conversion capacity for all their Airbus P2F programs comprising the A330P2F, A320P2F and A321P2F.
