Turkish Technic and Oman Air Sign Component Pool and Advance Exchange Services Agreement ​​​​​​​

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of technical services and solutions for commercial airlines and private jets, and the national airline of Oman, Oman Air, have signed a comprehensive ten-year component pool and advance exchange contract for the airline's fleet of Boeing B737 Next Generation and Boeing 737 MAX family.

 

In accordance with the contract, Istanbul-based maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider, Turkish Technic, will provide component pool, component maintenance and advance exchange services for Oman Air’s Boeing B737 Next Generation and Boeing B737 MAX family fleet. This multi-year contract will enable Oman Air to benefit from Turkish Technic’s decades of experience in component maintenance.

Turkish Technic Released its 2021 Financial Results

Turkish Technic, one of the most important actors of global aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) sector, released its financial results of 2021 which marked a successful growth and strong strategic acceleration compared to previous year. Company recorded a 15.7 percent growth compared to previous year with 1,034 billion USD revenue and increased its market share to 1.6 percent.

 

Showing its effect starting from 2020 at a global scale and bringing aviation sector to an almost complete halt, pandemic also affected Turkish Technic negatively just like others in aviation related sectors such as MRO. Yet, by quickly overcoming this negative effect and showing a successful performance, Turkish Technic received base maintenance authorization for C/D Hangars of Istanbul Airport. Performing base maintenance of a Boeing 787 type aircraft for the first time, MRO leader increased its number of landing gear maintenance by 40 percent and enhanced its landing gear maintenance-repair capabilities.

 

On the 2021 performance of the company, CEO of Turkish Technic, Mikail Akbulut stated; “We are happy with these numbers which showed we grew and profited during 2021 especially after one of the hardest years for aviation. Although the mean revenue of MRO sector dropped by 28 percent compared to pre-pandemic numbers, our company reached 88 percent in third party revenue during this period. We will realize our growth plans by continuously increasing our capacity, capabilities, customer portfolio and personnel numbers. We are determined to surpass our growth and revenue level obtained before pandemic by the end of 2022. We thank our customers for their confidence in our company and extend our gratitude to our colleagues for their dedication and effort.”

 

Providing component and aircraft maintenance service to many airline companies spread over a large geographical area, Turkish Technic supplied 672 aircraft base maintenance service while providing maintenance-repair services to 216 landing gear and over 100,000 components throughout 2021.

Turkish Technic and flydubai Partner for Base Maintenance of Boeing Type Aircraft

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of comprehensive maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for commercial aircraft and business jets, and Dubai-based carrier, flydubai have recently signed a contract for the C-Check operations of Boeing 737NG. The agreement covers two Boeing 737NG aircraft, the first of which will be commenced on March 2022.

 

Turkish Technic has been a trusted partner for flydubai during the pandemic. Over the past couple of years, the carrier has been collaborating with Turkish Technic for base maintenance and landing gear services. Currently, Turkish Technic is undertaking heavy maintenance operations of the Dubai-based carrier.

Turkish Technic to Perform Base Maintenance for Jazeera Airways

Turkish Technic, a leading provider of maintenance, repair, and overhaul services for commercial aircraft and their components, and Kuwait-based carrier, Jazeera Airways have recently signed a contract for the C-Check operations of Airbus A320neos. The agreement covers a total of three A320neo, the first of which will be commenced on the 3rd Quarter of 2022.

 

Since 2019, Jazeera Airways has contracted with Turkish Technic for maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. The carrier has been a regular customer for various Maintenance Checks. Currently, Turkish Technic is supporting heavy maintenance operations of the Kuwait-based carrier.

Turkish Technic, leading provider of technical services and solutions, and Dubai-based carrier, flydubai, have signed a commemorative certificate following their partnership on the C-check operations of Boeing 737-800 type aircraft.

Turkish Technic Receives Base Maintenance Authorization for C/D Hangars at Istanbul Airport

Turkish Technic has recently received base maintenance authorization for its Istanbul Airport C/D Hangars which were opened in October 2020 as one of the biggest hangars in the world. Following the authorization, Turkish Technic has welcomed its first base maintenance customers, three Airbus type aircraft. The Airbus A321neo has been the first aircraft to be given the Certificate of Release to Service (CRS). Turkish Technic celebrated the first release at C/D Hangars with the technical team on board.

 

With an indoor area of 60.000 m2, C/D Hangars have the capacity to provide maintenance services for 3 wide and 11 narrow-body aircraft simultaneously. In addition to being one of the biggest hangars in the world, C/D Hangars are equipped with the state-of-the-art technology while all elements in and around the facility are managed by smart automation systems. The hangars meet their water needs through rainwater harvesting and solar energy is being utilized as a part of the energy source. The translucent polycarbonate panels used in the hangars allow the benefits of sunlight last for a longer time.

 

On the authorization of the C/D Hangars, CEO of Turkish Technic, Mikail Akbulut stated that: “We are proud to have completed the very first aircraft base maintenance at our C/D Hangars, which have been put into service recently. C/D Hangars are a milestone for the global MRO market as well as for the Turkish civil aviation. When all phases of our facilities at Istanbul Airport are complete, we will have 11 hangars in total, and we will be able to provide maintenance and repair services to 26 narrow and 19 wide-body aircraft simultaneously.”

    Renewal of tailored parts package agreement between Boeing and Turkish Technic to provide a dynamic balance between airplane availability and inventory costs for Turkish Technic.  The three year agreement expands previous program with 9,000 part numbers

 

    DUBAI, June 15, 2021— Boeing [NYSE: BA] and Turkish Technic announced today a renewed tailored parts package agreement, extending the maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) provider’s current contract by three years. The contract will enable Turkish Technic to reinforce its efficiency, reliability and access to a global network of parts and component services.

Logistic Support of the Peace Eagle AEW&C Aircraft to be Provided by Domestic Industry

Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System Logistics Support Service Contract has been signed between the Presidency Defence Industries and Turkish Technic. Turkish Aerospace (TAI), HAVELSAN and Boeing will be the subcontractors of the project, which includes logistic support services for mission and ground systems of the 4 Peace Eagle AEW&C Aircraft, which are in the inventory of the Turkish Air Force Command.

 

Within the scope of the project, in addition to the on-site support for the maintenance of the AEW&C System located at Konya's 3rd Main Jet Base, the depot level maintenance of the aircraft will be carried out at the Esenboga Airport facilities of Turkish Technic, a subsidiary of Turkish Airlines. TAI and HAVELSAN, which will serve as subcontractors, will utilize the experience gained during the development of the AEW&C System. Boeing, the manufacturer of the aircraft, will provide support in material procurement, documentation and technical issues. With the project, all logistics support needed for the AEW&C System will continue to be provided uninterruptedly.

 

              Prof. Dr. İsmail Demir, President of Defence Industries: "Multiplier effect for Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) with advanced radar and sensors"

Prof. Dr. Ismail Demir, the President of Defence Industries, made the following statement on the subject: “The Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) System creates a multiplier effect for our Turkish Armed Forces in counter-terrorism and cross-border operations by operating at high altitudes with advanced radar and sensors and detecting enemy targets from long distances. Logistic support services of our AEW&C aircraft will continue to be provided uninterruptedly with the capabilities of our domestic industry. With the AEW&C System Logistics Support Project, Turkish Technic’s international experience in maintenance, repair and material supply is provided for the defence of our country. Turkish Technic’s experience in civil aviation has been a significant gain in project management in terms of cost effectiveness. In addition, the subcontractors TAI and HAVELSAN, will guide us with their experience that they have gained during the development of the AEW&C System. Aircraft manufacturer Boeing will also provide support in material procurement, documentation and technical issues.

Continuous logistics support from Turkish Technic

General Manager of Turkish Technic, Ahmet Karaman, stated that “We first carried out the base maintenance of 4 Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) aircraft in our Air Forces Command inventory in 2015. As Turkish Technic, we see this service as the pioneer of future projects and strategies, and it is a source of great pride for us.’’

 HAVELSAN in software and hardware

General Manager Dr. Mehmet Akif Nacar of HAVELSAN said, "As a place, where knowledge and experience on mission systems software and hardware is created during the development of the AEW&C System, HAVELSAN will take part in the maintenance and improvement activities of hardware and software of AEW&C Mission Systems and Ground Systems".

General Manager Prof. Dr. Temel Kotil of Turkish Aerospace stated the role of TAI, which has fulfilled critical missions from the very beginning within the Peace Eagle Project for the AEW&C System: “We are proud to be in the maintenance management setup created in the Presidency of Defence Industries’ initiative. Within the framework of this mission, our Turkish Air Forces Command will be provided with the technical support of aircraft mission systems in the field of maintenance and operation of the AEW&C System, continue the production and management of technical documentation, and train the personnel on mission systems, if needed, by using the knowledge it has acquired to date. We will perform these services with all our sensitivity to the utmost level. "
